Dear Lorna Many thanks for helping us out so late on Friday afternoon, following my plea for help, having had a privately booked vocalist pull out on appearing at our little hamlet’s Summer Fete. Our thanks are, in fact, twofold. Thanks go also to Michael C for accepting the booking, at such short notice, involving a fraught 5 hour motorway journey from Lytham St Annes to Gloucestershire – to appear at a venue rather short of being illustrious! A little hamlet of a mere dozen cottages, we have an annual fete day, when we invite family and friends to join us for games, competitions, food and wine. Each year, we try to introduce a new element to keep the event fresh. We have previously thought that our gathering was possibly too small to withstand live entertainment. But this year we decided to give it a try. And thanks to Michael C, it was a great success! A true professional, irrespective of size of event! Michael was everything and more than we could have wished for. The warmest of personalities, he engaged with his “audience” from the moment he took the microphone and had us all hooked from first to last. An extensive vocal range – including the fabulous falsetto of Frankie Valli. His playlist has no bounds, taking us from 50s Swing through to present day. Our gathering pushed on through to 2.00am Sunday morning, when we hoped Michael was safely tucked up, following a less stressful homeward journey. But we all convened again Sunday afternoon, to finish the remains of the pig roast and re-live the previous evening and the fabulous entertainment provided by Michael C. One word – superb!
