During the show Simon Cowell described the ex-navy heart throb as 'Amazing' and a 'genius' with great renditions of 'Say Something' (Great Big World), '500 Miles' (Proclaimers) and 'Skyfall' (Adele) amongst others. The music mogul also admitted on completion of the competition that between initial auditions & week 1 live shows he had predicted Jay as his winner, saying 'I felt it was a one horse race and that horse was Jay James'.

After completing the X Factor Tour where he performed night after night to arenas full of adoring fans, playing to over 300,000 people for a period of 23 dates across the biggest arenas and venues in the UK & Ireland, Jay is now back to focusing on his own original music as well as writing & producing for a huge RnB star.
