Sonia broke onto the UK charts in 1989 with her debut single You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You, which shot straight to the number one spot and selling 350,000 copies. She became the nations sweetheart as she appeared on several television and radio shows showcasing her bubbly personality and enthusiasm she gave during her performances

In 1990 she brought out her first album Everybody knows which sold over half a million copies and included songs such as; Listen to Your Heart, Can't Forget You and Counting Every Minute. In 1993 Sonia was chosen to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest with her hit single Better the Devil You Know which was also the title of her third album.

Sonia has also starred theatre, she starred in Grease as Sandy in London's West End to packed out audiences until April 1995 and was then chosen to star in musical What a Feeling's UK Tour.

She has continued her career in TV and theatre and released her greatest hits album in 2007.
