Fantastic MC/Awards Host

  • Perfect for Awards / Sportsmen’s Dinners / Weddings
  • Highly Recommended, award-winning MC / Compere
  • Full Public Liability and PAT Testing
  • Available UK Nationwide & Worldwide
Mark is happiest when he's hosting awards, sportsmen's dinners & conferences, because they're his specialist subjects!
He's compèred countless events around the world, from awards to business summits, 'live' Sky Sports & ESPN programmes, fundraisers, concerts & many more. He fronted a successful ‘sportsmen’s-dinners-for-the-troops’ tour in 2000 across war-torn Kosovo with England World Cup winners; he's even hosted the world-renowned dog show 'Crufts', at the NEC in Birmingham!
In just one 12 month period, Mark appeared in Brunei, made three trips (coast to coast) across the USA, plus trips to host events in Malaysia, Portugal (twice), Germany (twice), Switzerland (twice) & Hungary. This meant 41 flights & over 123,000 miles. In addition to those appearances, he continued to host events around the UK.

Mark has hosted Manchester United’s Player-of-the-Year awards, amongst others, since 2002. He’s been MC for Sky Sports' Masters Football since 2001, hosting all their televised tournaments across the UK, plus those in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Brunei & Macau in China, presenting all the live TV interviews too. Mark has also covered Rugby League & cricket, featuring on Channel 4 & Sky Sports on the ODIs, Test Matches & County games around the UK, where he conducted the TV interviews with Sir Ian Botham, David 'Bumble' Lloyd, David Gower, Michael Holding & the late, great Richie Benaud.

In 2001, Mark was much too close (just four blocks away) from New York's Twin Towers during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He spent the rest of the day as a Salvation Army volunteer helping Emergency Services; for the rest of the week, he reported ‘live’ from Ground Zero for UK radio.

Mark Jones has unrivalled experience as one of the UK's top radio presenters. He made his name at Liverpool's Radio City during their illustrious heyday, became an award-winner (with a Sony®) for his hosting the 'Biggest Solo Concert in history - Michael Jackson at Aintree Racecourse-where he entertained the crowd of over 125,000 all day from the stage. He was regularly voted ‘Presenter of the month' & has received many accolades from the Variety Club of Great Britain, where he is a long-standing Barker. Mark also covered Manchester United, Glasgow Celtic & Liverpool FC’s pre-season American tours for UK radio. After several successful years broadcasting on the two huge Century FM regional stations (now Smooth FM), Mark returned to host a daily UK-networked Magic programme. He was also regularly heard on Manchester’s Magic 1152 (formerly Piccadilly Radio). He even spread his experienced wings (and tonsils) overseas, and featuring on American radio stations WEFT & Q-96 in Champaign, Illinois, where he hosted the American Heart Association's black-tie fundraising dinners.

Not limiting his talents to radio, Mark has written & published several books, including the best-selling ’ Birthday Book’, which became the definitive UK Radio reference book.

Mark is a professional and very funny. He went down a storm …he kept the event running to time, announcing the speeches and keeping everyone amused and smiling. He is simply the best.

Thank you to our wonderful auctioneer @MCmarkjones and to all our bidders!! Staggering amount [over £50k] raised!!

Mark was excellent as MC, he had the room laughing most of the evening, kept the whole event running to time (something I was particularly worried about) did everything we requested of him and more, so much so we would like to book him again for our event next year... The feedback was extremely complimentary; we have been running this event for 30+ years using various people as MC they all assured me Mark was the best ever.

They were a difficult crowd to please, you did an exceptional job! Well done!” [Mark hosted the official opening of Aquavale Leisure Complex, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire]

Thank you for doing a great job, the awards were a huge success. How you managed to keep us on time still amazes us! See you next year! #TopMC”

A very big thank you from us for all for your hard work at our event [the 2015 Highways Electrical Association awards at Celtic Manor]. You handled your duties beautifully -and kept to the script– ha ha! It was an absolute pleasure working with you... a very enjoyable evening. We will most definitely keep in contact and think of you for future events.

I thought Mark was majestic in his handling and compèring the event. He kept everything moving in a most professional and competent manner; I can think of few other hosts who could have handled the event in such a professional way and with the provision of such good sound and lighting (which Mark also supplied). Many other super-expensive high-profile presenters would have stumbled over some of the Sri-Lankan pronunciations and protocols required. Mark did not.

A big thank you for last night's performance; I think you judged the audience just right as always, and really made the evening special for everyone. Our sponsors loved it (…and that's the main thing…!)”
